How to Run for Student Government

How to Run for Student Government

Every spring, students can file for candidacy to run in the annual spring General Elections to be elected into one of fifteen elected positions. These elected students will become the 2020-21 Associated Students Board of Directors who adocate for students, allocate student fee dollars to benefit all students and educate the campus on student wants and needs.

Students will want to attend if they are interested in being a student government representative or executive member. Running in an election is a learning experience in itself and we hope to provide more support so people who may have not been traditionally encouraged to join their student government, feel empowered to do so now. Learn the guidelines of the A.S. Elections Code, the positions available for elections, and how to campaign and promote yourself and your platform.
