Building Stamina: Reflecting Upon Our Participation in Conversations about Race

Building Stamina: Reflecting Upon Our Participation in Conversations about Race

Part 5:  So you Want to Talk to About Race

These sessions are for people who want to participate more productively in conversations about race and develop tools to support this skills-based competency. During these sessions, there will be an opportunity to reflect upon how we experience privilege and / or oppression because of race as well as other identities. We will explore how these identities impact how we show up in conversations about race. We will move beyond the interpersonal dimension to institutional and systemic impacts of race, power, and privilege, with a focus on white institutions and white systems. No previous experience talking about racism, race, or privilege is necessary. A willingness to listen, learn, and lean into discomfort is required.
