Passing the Graduation Writing Proficiency Exam (GWPE) is required for graduation. It is recommended that the exam be taken during students' junior year.

In this interactive workshop, we will review the purpose, format, and scoring of the GWPE, and then practice strategies to help you perform your best on exam day.

NOTE: The workshop does not include a full-length timed practice exam. After the workshop, you are encouraged to complete a timed exam on your own and then bring your essays to the Writing Studio (Library 1st floor) for personalized feedback. Make an appointment online: humboldt.edu/learning/writing-studio. Drop-in hours are also available.
