Perspectives on Community Based Learning Best Practices in Teaching Service Learning and Academic Internships

The HSU strategic plan calls for increased efforts to integrate High Impact Practices into our courses, especially those that contribute to retention, commitment to one's major, and professional equity for URM and First-Generation College Students.  Teaching through Service Learning and Academic Internships are proven HIPs that connect students to the community and the curriculum to the realities beyond the classroom.  Come hear from some of our own excellent practitioners and ask them about the pedagogy, best practices, challenges, and rewards of integrating these practices into your own courses.

Each of the following faculty will provide 3-4 minute, concise summaries of what their programs look like and then we will open the forum for questions and answers.
